Abstract:The 100W@20K pulse tube refrigerator offers significant advantages over Stirling or GM refrigerators due to the absence of moving parts at low temperatures. Since the invention of the double-inlet pulse tube refrigerator in 1990, achieving 100W of cooling power at 20K has remained a challenge over the past 30 years. A pre-cooling type two-stage pulse tube refrigerator targeting 100W@20K was developed. Both stages use an active buffer combined with a double-inlet as the phase shifter. HoCu? is used in the second-stage regenerator. It is achieved the lowest temperature of 7.8K, and a cooling power of 100.1 W@20 K.
