Acoustic Power Redistribution in a Shared Inertance Tube Pulse Tube Cryocooler

Abstract:Stirling-type pulse tube cryocoolers (SPTCs) have no moving parts at the cold end, offering low vibration, long maintenance intervals, and high reliability. A shared inertance tube SPTC uses a step piston compressor and connects the hot ends of multiple pulse tubes, enabling redistribution of PV power and phase-shifting capability in a multistage system. This presentation investigates acoustic-power redistribution in this configuration and examines how key parameters affect the cooling capacity of the low-temperature stage and overall system efficiency.
